Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

It’s a really good idea to have one at home just incase.

Argos have been sold out for days since Oximeters hit the news.

You can usually get one for only £20 quid

Anyone seen them available elsewhere at a similar price?

Cheers

When I questioned my Doctor, when He used to use one

Seems He has gone back to using his Finger on my pulse

But these days I do not have much faith is advertised , so called Health aids

Hopefully people havent followed the advice to get these, unless they have some severe vulnerability, and shielding. as yes they are very good,

But if Jo blogs goes out buying these, then just like toilet paper, and hand gel etc. it goes out of stock, and we in the community, cant get enough of them, to dispatch out to patients if we need then to use them. If you think your breathing is affecting you, then call your Gp. I dont know where the idea of it being a silent killer came from. If you have breathing difficulties, even if it happens 1- 8weeks, after you think you first have symptoms, then you MUST MUST call 111 or your gp

I agree. I have one because I have ongoing problems with my lungs for which I have spent quite a few weeks in hospital as an inpatient over the past few years. I have learnt, with guidance from my doctors, to recognise symptoms that may warrant some sort of intervention by a health professional. My oxymeter is helpful in determining this.

Yes but as Michael has pointed out many of them have a tolerance of +or - 6%.

So if it reads 94% your oxygen level could be between 88% and 100%. In other words totally pointless.
If you do feel the urge to buy one make sure it is a decent one with 2% or better tolerance. A £20 model on ebay or Argos is probably not up to it,

As I said before, I regularly compare the readings from mine with one being used by a health care professional. It's close enough that they take note of the readings.
