Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

A new feat of architecture has risen in the Italian city of Nola, just a stone's throw away from the cataclysmic Mt. Vesuvius. Designed by Renzo Piano, Vulcano Buono is a cone-shaped commercial centre crowned with a sloping green roof.

The interior of the complex houses shops, a supermarket, a 2,000 seat cinema, restaurants, and a hotel. Renzo Piano describes the building as "a contemporary take on a greek marketplace, a void as a place for events, meetings, dialogue and the gathering of people".

" Just a stone's throw " ??
Surely they mean " Just a lava flow "?
I LOATHE to be controversial or gratuitously provocative, but in my own personal opinion, this volcanic-inspired shopping centre is even more imaginative than the Haringey Arena retail park (just).

Thanks for the link Hugh!

.
Complete tommy-rot! Utter nonsense; why the Arena Shopping Park is a chef d'oeuvre zat cannot be eekwalled.
I knew the retail park would have its patriotic admirers and stalwart defenders. Let's agree that the Arena shopping piazza is in a class of its own; certainly a different league to that peculiar volcano centre.

yes, but ends up with same explosive results...
Now that's what we need for Seven Sisters. Let's think big. Flatten the whole area not just round the market, so, my house has to go, a small price to pay for a serious Gateway to Tottenham.
