The media is under reporting this, including local media. Over the last week there have been several developments;
1. govt says it can no longer 'contain' the spread of this virus
2. they are no longer closing schools although South Harringay Nursery was closed this week with a confirmed case
3. labs aren't testing for every case suspected (too expensive & time consuming). More to the point they appear to be testing very few cases. Hornsey School for Girls for example has quite a number of suspected cases but those affected pupils are being given the drugs without testing.
4. current confirmed cases are around 4300 in the UK. There are no figures I'm aware of for suspected cases. This is probably in the 10s, if not 100s of thousands.
5. most cases are mild
6. a cough is one symptom the NHS is particularly looking out for, along with fever and dizziness and vomiting
7. number of cases are expected to skyrocket come the autumn
8. two have died so far in the UK, one pregnant lady aged 38 in Scotland and one male aged 75, also in Scotland
