Beautiful
Are they the family in finsbury park which are thriving
I'm not sure - the nest was in the wetlands and they still seem to rest on the bank where I took the picture. But they're not always there, I see them on about half of my visits now. Have you seen them in the New River in Finsbury Park or the lake?
What a treat to see. Just how many young were there?
This particular pair has seven cygnets but one seems to be being abandoned :( it hangs out further up the river towards FP and has been spending more and more time on its own. However there have been other sightings of all seven together in the early morning.
I can't tell if all seven are pictured here, but maybe the OP can confirm?
The family usually takes a trip to Finsbury Park some time in the afternoon (yes I'm sad enough to have a good idea of their daily routine as it intersects quite a bit with my own!). Not sure how far they go, but I think just up to the bit by Endimion road as there's another swan family a little further along, and I don't suppose they would want to encroach on their territory.
Grey is beautiful!
o wow!!!
When water was pumped around New River there was large Numbers of Swans on New River
Also when the Old Cricket Fields was kept locked. They used to nest in the Weeds.
As mentioned there are some real large Pike - Freshwater Sharks - in the New River System
Who used to also take the Geese chicks
There is reports that Swans on the River Lea at Tottenham are being removed - Possible for food as are the Canadian Geese.
