are the buildings by hornsey train station going to get? Have we reached peak height yet?

I think the part nearest the station has reached its maximum height.
According to this it's 14 floors so nearly there ...
Fourteen I've been watching it go up. I think they've reached the top now. Despite the duplicitous and dishonest dealings by both council and developer, for me, it doesn't look as monstrous as some of us feared.
That wasn't the point (nimby worries about ugliness). The point is that it was on sale in other countries for two months before it was offered here to domestic INVESTORS. This is a property bank going up, not "housing". What they are building is purely for rental to professional couples and sharers by landlords who live overseas and don't pay income tax here.
It might not have been your point but it is my point. This website does have the space to allow for more that one person's point.
I've had my say before about easy sneering recourse of the nimby jibe, John.
There's nothing wrong with caring about the look of your neighbourhood. I don't recall anyone ever arguing against the flats on Hampden; on the contrary I remember them being roundly welcomed. There was however disagreement about the choice of the height - a height which contravened the Council's own planning policy put in place for good reason - and yes they could have had the same density with a lower height.
Planning rules are effectively dead.
Meanwhile in other news, deadly Broadwater Farm towers are having to be demolished and their residents have to be found new homes.
As id mentioned on another thread this is a real chance for the new council to show how they are different
