...and is there honey still for tea?

A bit late this - but did anyone else see the swarm of bees last Sunday? I was in my front room that morning & became aware of a noise - at first I thought that I had left some machine on but looking out over Allison Road I saw that the air was full of bees - fortunately my windows were closed - the little dears were bashing their heads against them & crawling dazed on the sills. After a few minutes they faded away.

Interestingly there was a piece in the Grauniad the next day describing a similar (or same - the location was not specified) event - this ended with a local beekeeper scooping them out of a hedge & installing them in a spare hive - apparently they tend to winter in unused chimneys.
