iPhone Screen Repair - a Local Experience
After dropping my phone countless times, my luck finally out yesterday, and I smashed my iPhone screen.
Having found that Timpsons charge £75 for a replacement and Apple well over £100, I dug up an old thread on HoL that directed me to Ranj Telecom.
Kurdish owner Ranj did the job for £35 in 20 minutes. As far as I know he did a good job. He was also friendly and polite.
Worth a try if your luck runs out - Ranj Telecom, 60 Grand Parade between Burgoyne and Cavendish.
I'll let you all know if the screen drops off!

Argh just smashed my iPhone screen and need it repaired. This is the most recent post on the site about local repairs - does anyone have more recent experience? And how is your phone doing Hugh, did it survive for long?

Thanks for asking. I keep meaning to come back and update this. The repair didn’t last and I withdraw my recommendation. Now I may have been unlucky, but whatever the case it didn’t work.

It can be tricky and using cheaper non-Apple parts is often the problem.
The guy outside Lido is excellent/way better than me.

I have also smashed my phone, is the guy outside LIDO my best option then? Has anyone tried the shop opposite Savers?

I’ve used various repair places on Green Lanes and they’re okay for a cheap quick fix on an old phone but I’ve found the screen quality is never the same and the Touch ID no longer works. If it’s a new/decent phone I would pay the extra money.
