Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This morning at around 9am, I drove past Falkland Road wanting to turn into it but the car in front of me was told it was closed. A man dressed casually (not in a uniform of any kind) put out yellow police cones on the road. I couldn't hear what was being said, and as I was in a rush carried on up Green Lanes. I just wanted to make people aware as it seemed rather odd.

There was a huge flatbed lorry delivering steels to a house converting a loft. That must be the most considerate example of a delivery I have seen. Most would have made you wait half an hour whilst unloading. At least the rat running stopped for a short while.

Ah okay. The man didnt look like a workman but perhaps he lived in the house.

i did this when we had concrete poured for our extension on Hewitt Rd. i stood at the top with a luminous tabbard on advising cars that the road was blocked. it lasted about 90 minutes.

I thought I was doing drivers a favour, as they'd only have to reverse out (we live half way down), but the amount of abuse i received from drivers who were inconvenienced by having to go down either Pemberton or Beresford has made me wonder if i should bother again if we get more work done!

You should have stood there with your bicycle and then you could have had a fight too! ;)

I think it is a kind thing to do rather than let vehicles get caught up but no one is ever happy!
