Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Please does anyone have a bit of that special paint to blot out a stain before applying white paint to a wall? I need a tiny amount for a stain in one corner, it doesn't seem worth buying a whole tin!

Hi Alyson, have you tried using a coat of gloss? I find it works every time and never bother buying the 'stain covering' stuff.

Use primer
Most stains can be covered with oil based paint but not all. For tough ones an oil based Stainblock is needed.

Thanks for the suggestions, it's to cover some pale brown marks after water came through, on white emulsion - can you then paint emulsion on top of the gloss that's covering the marks?

Yes you can. You must be sure the area has dried completely otherwise nothing will work..
