He/she tried to get into my neighbours house (20 Seymour) when they came out to put their recyling out. The number on the tag is handwritten and difficult to read - the one they tried wouldn't connect. We have just fed it and it wolfed it down. It looks pretty grubby so I'm guessing it's been absent for a while. Fingers crossed someone knows who it belongs to.

Well done everyone for helping the cat. It's a worry if the cat is out the front as likely to get injured by a car. The cat may also end up wandering on to Wightman Rd which will be even more risky. If it's possible in the meantime, perhaps you could get the cat safe inside. I appreciate it can be tricky!

Any vet will scan a cat for free to see if the cat is microchipped. (The vet will also be able to confirm whether male or female, approximate age and whether neutered yet).

I've mentioned to Stokey Cats & Dogs as they publicise lost and found pets and there are useful tips on their website.

Email stokeycatsndogs@gmail.com (Stokey also have volunteers who provide temporary foster homes for cats until any owner found and they check proof of ownership). If cats are stray or abandoned, Stokey looks for a permanent home).

You can list a lost or found pet on Animal Search and it's free to do that.

It could be a situation where owner on holiday and cat has somehow got out the front, which means that the cat won't know where it is, as only knows back garden area.

(For any cat owners out there, Animal Rescue charities advise that it is vital that pets are neutered and microchipped. Cats enjoy catflap access to a back garden, but it's best to lock the catflap at night so that cats are safe inside at night as it reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured. Remember not to let them out the front door by mistake. These safety personalised collars are also useful).

This looks like the white cat over the railway bridge, one of the shops feeds him, but think he just roams. But he is very friendly and seems well looked after.When I next go that way, probably Monday. I will check it out, if it is him, will talk to them abut neutering as that's a really dangerous route

I haven't seen the poor fellow since, although several people on m road report seeing him on the same day. Seeing tigha's post below worries me - i he has come from over the bridge that's a heck of a long way don Wightman onto Seymour. If I see him again, I'll get him inside (food bribes usually do the trick, but I'm not sure how my two will react), get hime checked and if necessary neutred and homed.
