Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

So I've just received the attached through my letter box from those lovely people at Haringey Council. If I sign up I get another giant plastic bin cluttering up my garden, and I get to pay £75 per year for the privilege.

£75 equals about 800 miles of petrol for my car, so about 600 round trips to the recycling centre, so it's a no-brainer for me to take it there myself. But what about people who don't have cars, or are physically impaired? Will there be a discount scheme for them?

The cost annoys me a lot less than the thought of yet another ruddy bin. Why can't they carry on collecting sacks??

There is a very long post already on the site about this - worth a look. This has established that there will be a bag option if you don't want a bin.

Thanks, I missed that.

Hi Alison - could you forward the link please?

Thanks

Ah. No worries Alison, I think I have found it!

Yes, because I thought that there is an option, but actually it also costs and you need a large number of bags at a time.

Do send the link.  I think we should start a petition anyway!
