Hard to imagine that this was how the HJ still looked in 1968 - four years after I left! And the names!
What's an HJ ?
HJ stands for Hornsey Journal which was the local, weekly newspaper. It had a wide circulation, I wonder if Richard may know numbers It was great for weekly news and also had a children’s page where, if you had a letter printed, you were sent a payment - I think I received a postal order for 2 shillings and sixpence after having a poem printed.
Hornsey Journal, I'd guess.
I went to that Gala Night, age 17. I had forgotten exactly who and how many appeared. Thanks for the memory.
