A beautifully nostalgic photograph, but you can see why many people had fallen out of love with local railways in those days. Similar sights could be seen at the crumbling gas-lit stations of Harringay and Hornsey. Of course, if the Palace Gates line had survived it would be thriving today, being a direct route to Stratford.

I may have riddent behind this on one of many journeys 'up the line' from Harringay, Hornsey and Wood Green. No corridor, cross your legs for blokes and cross your fingers for the girls!

I have now realised the museum it is returning to is near where I now live - I have mailed them to see what it's current status is and if I can photograph it and send picture to HoL.
