Ah, the old Railway Hotel !  I remember it as being a bit of a dark, scruffy old place.  In the mid 60's five of us mates formed a little blues style band with the dreams of being the next Rolling Stones. Or better.   We used to have weekly band practice up on the first floor (think it was, with the big windows).  A pint or two accompanied the sessions.  Several times dragging our stuff down the stairs a few locals would comment on the "noise and volume" of our efforts.  Needless to say Mick and Co were never 'threatened' by our artistry !!   Teenage dreams eh........?
