Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

"Montague Burton The Tailor of Taste" grille, Topsfield Parade

I felt sure that the Burton grille came up quite recently on another photo, but blowed if I can find it. Anyway, as a result of that recent phantom comment, I snapped a photo of the grille at 14 Topsfield Parade (now Gift) as we were passing yesterday.

Looking at it when I got home, I saw a small "Montague" in the upper left hand corner of the grille. A quick Google tells me that it as the original name of the store, after the founder of the store in the first decade of the twentieth century.

Worth my mentioning that before it was Burtons, from I think the 1930s, it was a Post Office Telephones outlet.
