Great and atmospheric picture. Strand Motorcycles got me out of trouble more then once. When I switched to four wheels in 1962 they were trying to sell my 1958 500cc AJS Model 20 for £50. Insurance had not long gone through the roof so no takers. No change out of £5,000 in that condition today!
Can anyone put names to these faces please ???
Yes. Left to Right: Alan Fennell, Barry Hillier, Francis Sneddon, Les Rappe, Barry Faulkner, Micky Faulkner, Terry Crawford, Me, (Brian Faulkner), Taking the Pic!!!
Cheers John
Ah Brian Faulkner haven't heard about you for around sixty one years, I stumbled upon your photo of the lads and their scooters by accident while trying to research about Coburn & Hughes. As soon as I saw your name come up I said that's got to be the lad I used to know and it is. I also remember most of the rest of the lads as well, you might not remember me from the scooter days as we in North Harringay had our own scooter group. You probably don't remember me I'm the one you used to sing ( summer county summer county ooh ooh ooh to at school at North Harringay Secondary School I'm Reg Summers. Anyway we had our own scooter group in North Harringay consisting of Johnny Daniels, David Brooker, ( Brookers Motorcycles from Queens Parade Brian Hagger, Raymond Bird, Trevor Alberry Derek Chard to name but a few I don't know if you remember any of them.
