Hugh,
It is the school which is bounded on one side by Mattison Rd and on the other by Pemberton Rd. If that is called South Harringay school? My second photo, of the cast of the school Christmas play in 1930/31, will be with you soon.
I have now had a chance to explore most (if not all) the photos you have assembled on HoL and want to congratulate you on putting together a simply splendid collection. So many of them take me back to my first 10 years of life, and have triggered so many memories. I am also lost in admiration fior the sheer amount of hard work and man/hours entailed in gathering and presenting the photos. Harringay, and I, are indebted to you.
Sincerely,
Arthur

Great photo Arthur. Yes, not too much smiling but aren't you all nice and tidy?

This would have been South Harringay, as the school at the other side of the alley (with the swimming pool) at that time was Hornsey County Grammar (which still after all these years has an ex-pupil association still active). This in 1951 became Hornsey County Secondary and later became the infants school. Happy days!
