Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

So said the English writer Neville Cardus in 1947. Writing for the liberal Melbourne paper , The Age, he waxes lyrical of the fundamental decency of the people of post war London, using a description of a concert at the Harringay Arena as an illustration of his point and providing a glimpse into what it was like to attend one of them.
Imagine 10,000 ordinary folk listening to classical music where now we go to  buy paint and hammers.
