Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
WW1 Walk in Crouch End
We'll be out again this Sunday 9th November as part of Remembrance Day.
The walk takes us to the site of the air raid, the house of one of Hornsey's many conscientious objectors and another of a leading local women's rights campaigner, Theodora Bonwick. We'll see where the hospital stood that tended to the wounded at the Front and tell the stories of some of the local men and boys who fought, when we go inside the War Memorial.
It's a 1pm start, costs £7, lasts about 100 minutes and starts at the corner of Middle Lane and Hornsey High Street N8. Let us know if you'd like to come along at crouchendwalks@btinternet.com.

Hi Ruth Sorry you missed it too. We had a great day out, just ten people and lovely weather. The next date we have planned is Monday 24th November at 11 am. Let me know if this is good for you. If this is not convenient, we will be running it again in the new year, but have not set a date yet. Paul.

Thanks for speedy reply Paul. I really wanted to come but I had a bit of an accident yesterday on my way back from Belgium. (Just minor but nevertheless meant I didn't go far from home today.) The weather was great too…. really a shame I missed it.
I can't do week days cus of work but do keep me informed of other possible dates for this great walk.

Sorry to hear about your accident, hope you get better soon.
Yes we're trying a weekday to see if there is an appetite for it, but I expect it will not be ideal for many. I'll let you know of other dates.
