Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
working from home - cafes, libraries or co-working desk spaces around Harringay and Hornsey?
Hi,
I am an academic and work from home a lot. Do you know cafes, libraries or co-working desk spaces around Harringay and Hornsey where it is possible to work for a couple of hours?
I go to Blend often as I can easily spend there a good couple of hours nourished with good food and coffee. Crouch End library has very few tables that are not completely enclosed, and I don't particularly like to work looking to a wall... other than that... I just stay at home...

The new Music & Beans has good coffee & wifi
You can work in Hackney Libraries if you get a library card - e.g. Stoke Newington Library on Stoke Newington Church Street, by Clissold Park. I think Haringey Libraries are similar.

Try Blighty on Blackstock road, they allow you to pay a small sum monthly to use their space without feeling you ought to buy endless coffees etc.

I think the Wood Green public library is a good place to work with a laptop. There is an area on the ground floor where you can get on-line time on the library terminals for internet access etc. On (I think) the first floor there is an area for work/study, with table etc for laptops, mains electricity plugs, and free wi-fi. One of the nice things for me on the occasions when I've been there with a laptop is that it is generally quiet, and not too busy (on most weekdays, at least). While there are no facilities for eating etc in the library (though there are, of course, loos <g>), there are loads of places to get coffee, a snack, or a meal within a couple of minutes', as you are right in the centre of Wood Green. Also, of course, pretty easy to get to by bus as so many bus routes stop near the library (and the nearby tube station). Library membership is, of course, free, as is the wi-fi, and you can stay there as long as you like (while they are open, of course).

Recommend checking out 639 High Road N17 8AA. Seriously cheap co-working space, good Wifi and lovely people.
