Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

It looks to me as if they have started work in the carriage washing facility by Hampden Road without waiting for planning permission.

If they've started work without planning permission, it's perhaps worth letting the council enforcement dept. know.

This comment from Mr Thant may answer your point Hugh..

Railways have Permitted Development Rights that allow them to upgrade existing lines without planning permission, and they're exempt from noise/vibration laws. You're not going to get anywhere with litigation.

You could try asking your MP to lobby the government to take action against Network Rail (who own and upgraded the line), but Network Rail is a government-owned company, and the upgrade was paid for by the government. Essentially, it's government policy for your house to shake (and I don't think the new government is going to change this).

I believe that, in this case, the (previous) Government blocked these plans when they were first put forward and directed that planning permission be sought.
John did you ever get to the bottom of this?
