I have some woodworking, metalworking skills and haven't been able to do anything for ages due to lack of workshop space for fiddling about. Have quite a few tools and basic skills. Any ideas? Happy to develop woodworking skills further. Would maybe like to learn furniture making or even some voluntary work.

You might try contacting Restore and see if they need volunteers? They are based in Ashley Road, N17 and the get donated furniture and spruce it up a bit and then sell it on quite cheaply to locals. I've put a link to their website and the volunteering page below. They also have a facebook page so you can see some of the furntiture they have worked on and sell.

Ha, I was about to look for someone with some metal work skills. We have a clothes washer that has a problem that needs a tiny spot of welding. One of the bars we hang clothes from ahs come away on one side. It is possibly not as safe as it could be and I would like to see if I can get it repaired.
Any thoughts?
