Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Seems to be a lot less wireless outrage this weekend. I personally think they have done a much better job this time around. Can't say I like the music, not the volume the style (I'm looking forward to the house festival in September). Nevertheless, the the build has been far more professional than last year and appears less chaotic. It's nice that they listened and recognised their mistakes.

Oh that's what the noise is ? I was wondering.

Still been driving my crazy so far this weekend, but have learnt that my thoughts and feelings on this matter mean for nothing so have just gotten sleeping tablets from my doctor and spent most of the day with the windows closed and fan & TV on indoors to try and mask the noise. I would have gotten out the house this weekend if I was able to but that wasn't a choice sadly.

Did you listen to the video someone put on from their balcony ? It was shocking how loud it was how can they ever think that is a reasonable thing to do for people who live there to have that banging in their ears not being able to block any of it out at all or listen to anything else but that for 3 full days and evenings. Is that outrage enough ? I'm all for music I love music but you shouldn't have to listen to it if you don't want to they don't have a choice and there is not one thing they can do about it sorry for the moan up but that banging is relentless and in their cent garden .
I guess loudness is a perspective I was right by the festival and thought how tame it sounded and how these youngsters were being sold short!
I thought much the same.. it was much louder last year I'm sure... I think they did plan in much better this year... and there seemed to be more police (could be imagining it)

The loudest sound I've heard so far is intermittent applause/appreciation from the audience, on top of bass thump, neither obtrusive to me (south-facing, south end of Ladder). Certainly no louder than last year for me. For reference, there was a three-minute sound check at 1015 on Friday which was way louder than the music proper - I guess they were calibrating the sound measuring setup. Again, acceptable to me in context.

Couldn't hear much at all at 10pm Friday by Manor House tube station apart from the occasional bass. Maybe it was all over by then. Prenty of police on standby.

I just get the bass thump thump. It may be that my chimney resonates like an organ pipe.

It's there but I can live with it.

This is how loud it is for everyone on seven sisters Rd all day and most of the night for 3 days I don't see how that's aloud that would drive you round the bend along with the sirens and the helicopters .
Billy Hole is bang on the money!

So the noise is a bit of a pain... There's tens of thousands of people having a great time!! Good for them I say and shame on these handful of self absorbed, non representative, nimbys.

i agree

Notting Hill Carnival isn't held in a public park and therefore isn't covered by the same legislation as that the Friends were trying to close down Wireless with..... but you're right the Friends are really beginning to lose the plot!  My guess is that they are trying to make this a national campaign because local contributions to their campaign fund have completely dried up.  Not one red cent has been pledged to their crowd-funder site since they lost their day in court.  They have to pick more pockets to fund their challenge.....
