Wireless cancelled

With the hundreds of Jewish families celebrating Passover in the park this weekend, I'm delighted to hear that Kayne West won't be coming to the Uk. The whole festival is cancelled. I hope there is no event at all that weekend so we can have our park back in the best months.

It was so nice to go through the park yesterday and see every walk of life enjoying the space by the thousands as a public asset. Even the huge funfair leaves the park mostly usable. In contrary, these huge festivals are a blight on our main public space and have done nothing for the community other than try to bring a notorious bigot to an area where there are lots of Jewish people and give the man a PA system to incite whatever hatred he pleases.

I think the relationship Haringey has with Live Nation goes beyond cosy to having the appearance of being very dodgy, especially with the very questionable alleged non-consultation with stakeholders to pass a five-year golden ticket to Live Nation to continue to destroy our park, which was ushered in just before purdur. 

Anyway, putting deeply suspect relationships aside for a moment, lets celebrate this victory against platforming bigtos and hope this is the beginning of LiveNation falling out of favour and losing its monopoly to do as it pleases in our community.
