Willow Bird Box Artwork in Gardens Community Garden

Andy from the Gardens Residents Association has just sent us a message and some snaps of the new Willow Bird Box Artwork in Gardens Community Garden:

 
"Please pop along have a look - the new Artworks looks fab and we are very pleased with the final outcome of the installation.

Obviously we won't expect birds to nest this year but fingers crossed they will once the human smell has disappeared, there are two boxes either side of the Railway Arch incorporated into the willow basketry spirals.

 
The concept behind the willow sculptures was to create abstract willow artwork with a functional aspect to bring wildlife to the Community Garden and are the new central feature to the garden.

The project has been funded through the "Big Lottery" "Community Wildlife Programme".
This funding is for bringing communities together and to learn about nature by raising awareness of wildlife and places.
