John, Har'ackney's New Heartlands will be centered on the new development of Manor House/Finsbury Park (meaning the Park, not the grubby district of that name)/and the New River and Brownswood Wards - formerly South Hornsey). The aim will be "to create a vibrant new urban quarter which acts as the civic and cultural heart of Har'ackney, integrating and benefiting wider communities." Green Lanes and a river flow through it, though there are no plans at present to incorporate a Mary Nuner Ghost Road. Sorry!

Personally, I don't think Hackney, or any other neighbouring borough, would want to work with Haringey. I feel that boroughs should merge key services and work together more to reduce economies of scale, because of the potential benefits involved if the process is managed properly. However, some commentators have suggested that WHOLE boroughs should merge. That should be rejected, because it would make them even MORE remote than they are at present. Local government in the UK suffers because it is heavily dependent on central government grants, and are restricted, compared to other countries, in being told by Whitehall how and where the resources should be spent, and how much in taxation that can be raised. The government was right to abolish most of the quangos, but has failed to put anything adequate in their place.
