Wildlife Challenge: spot these six Autumnal things at Railway Fields!

Wildlife Challenge

As we can't run Family Wildlife Arts at the moment, the team are setting you a self-directed challenge you can do as you walk around the site.

Here are six Autumnal things to look for, can you find all of them?

1. Yellow lichen

2. Fallen leaves

3. Elderberries

4. Michaelmas Daisies

5. A Speckled Wood Butterfly

6. A spider

Take photos of the ones you spot and share with us on social media. You can find us on Twitter @FriendsofRF or in the comments on ourFB page. Or draw a picture of them to share with us!

We'd also love to see what else you find on your walks around Railway Fields this season

Remember Railway Fields is also open Mon-Wed 9-5

Good luck!

Is it actually open on Saturday as the date posted was 25 September? Have never been and would like to but every time I've passed it's been closed.

Railway Fields is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9-5 (with the exception of Monday 5th October.)

It is opened by volunteers the last Saturday of the month which this month will be 31st October (assuming that Covid restrictions are not tightened this month). Saturday opening is done by The Friends of Railway Fields and can be double checked by looking on their website or checking their Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages.

It is NOT open this Saturday and I have removed the reference to Saturday opening from the original post to avoid confusion.

Thanks for clarifying, Liz!
