Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Either born and/or bred
Or a Haringeyite
Or even just a Londoner

Me, born in Sarf London, returned as a young(ish) adult and finally ended up in Harringay some years ago.

Bizarrely, there was /is no maternity unit in the LB Haringey when my children were born so I guess only home birthed children of a certain age can claim to be true Haringaeites!

Or let's see if anyone was found in a handbag under a juicy gooseberry bush on the northern platform at Harringay Green Lanes, with a one-way ticket to Barking. Would s/he qualify?
In a haaandbairg?
This from Twitter:

@harringayonline lived in Harringay since 1987 so I think I qualify 30 minutes ago via web GeorgeMacD

Following the example of our second-best public school, " Harringavian " sounds better (to my ear ) :)
. . . . a suffix strictly for the birds, John. But then Harringay ain't short of a few attractive boids.

(Just waiting for the rap on the knuckles.)
Order, gentlemen, order!

Are you or aren't you?
Course not, they are 'Zugereister' (now why don't you have this word in English?)

That's how come they don't understand why it has to to Harringaeite/ harringayite/ Harringayikes!!

and I bet they don't use wotcha as a greeting either.. but as a sarf-Londer I bet you prefer to say alright instead of hello.

Harringaeites will also say Endy-mion Road.. instead of the soppy RP En-dymion Road.. lol
So we have just one HOL member born, bred & still living here in Harringay ... out of 3500 HOL members. I knew our population was transient but that's incredible. There are of course others who have lived here all their lives but aren't HOL members. I know of a least one resident in Falkland Rd.

But there we have it ..... 'Harringay, always on the move.'
I was born in umferville road  ha ha and so were my brothers and my mum .....haringey boys and girls are we
