I'd never seen this before. I'm sure many of you will know it though.

She looks important so Bruce Castle seems likely but I haven't seen her there

But Bruce Castle isn't in Harringay.

First thought was the ex-Catholic church (ex-ex-Methodist) on Mattison Rd, but not so unless it's at the east end. It's eight courses of brick high, so that's about 60 cm / just over two feet high, i.e. not a tiny gargoyle-like detail.  More work required, then.

Should we take it that the building structure continues upwards and has been Photoshopped out for clarity, and that the grey horizontal element to the left of the face is a window-sill or similar?

The structure continues up just a very littel bit, but not much; this is near the top od the building. The area to the left is just a slightly blown London sky - iphone photography for you!

Doesn't she appear as one of the postage stamps on the moving strap at the top of the page opposite the Harringay on Line Title ?

Second thoughts - perhaps not.

Simillar, but your second thoughts were bang on.

I haven't got the faintest idea. When are you going to tell us?!

Yes, sorry. It's on Raleigh Road. Click the picture to go through to Street View.
