There was a pretty bad crash near Selale restaurant

Having suffered the traffic chaos on a bus in West Green I politely asked the policeman outside The Salisbury what had happened and got “there’s been a very minor collision, sir”

I couldn’t then, and still can’t now, work out whether he was being obtuse with several ambulances behind him, or whether he actually classed it as minor.

Some friends were in Selale when it happened and they didn’t think it looked minor!

I presume the 20mph speed limit was being carefully adhered to and that this was caused by a motorist having to take sudden evasive action to avoid a cyclist or pedestrian.

Seriously though, I have seen a bright gold/yellow Lamborghini undertake a black Mercedes one weekend evening heading south by nipping into some empty parking spaces and then back out. I wondered at the time if this was now a "thing".

I've commented about that before, here and here. This conversation was an eye opener.

My friends said they heard a speeding car before the crash so I assume it was over 20

I hope you gave him your best "wrong answer, young man" stare.

Unfortunately John it was rather the other way around, he was a number of years my senior!

Never mind... Suitably admonished, I skulked off into The Salisbury with my tail between my legs.
