Why do you think it is happening ?

Mr Walsh, are you answering a question with a question?

Naughty Naughty... :)

Hi again, really hope we can come to some common ground on this one..........But I doubt it, even if I'm wearing my sensible shoes !

You will be ignored and reported everytime you troll, insult and express derogtory views on this thread.

I've read your posts, you need help.

Ok, fair enough, I'll just think a bit more before I write anything then, and try not to be silly. Deal ?

Thank you David.

I think 'Gentrification' is a bit of a misnomer, a better term would be 'trickle down effect' from the most expensive areas, like Kensington/Chelsea where the traditional old school British millionaires cannot compete with the new Russian oligarchs/Chinese billionaires, through to the midrange areas like Islington, Muswell hill etc with displaced Barristers buying up, through Crouch end, Stoke Newington and finally to places like 'SOTO'. A huge financial displacement of people from all levels from the top to the bottom. In London anyway. So yes, it has started happening in Tottenham as it has in very many other parts of London..........Discuss.

Interesting. But do you not feel you contradicted yourself?

"Trickle Down" implies distribution and social mobility. What you are describing is displacement because the wealth is staying at the top and others need to find cheaper places.

Yes, you're right, displacement rather than trickle down, but both in this context are fairly similar, I'd have thought.

Shall we agree with "trickle up" then... ;)

As long as we both understand. Why not ?

The real issue is where are the poorest heading for ?
