Beans & Barley's first customers flocked to the terrace and enjoyed the new store's coffee
After a quiet soft opening earlier in the week, Beans and Barley finally opened its doors to Harringay today on a glorious early summer day.
Owners Irfan Serce & Caglar Eric (pronounced Cha-glar) were fair rushed off their feet and I didn't have the heart to drag them away for a photo. They're both behind the coffe bar - Irfan in the blue check shirt, Caglar in the black T Shirt
Irfan and Caglar were pouring a welcome glass of wine to their first customers, but many seemed very happy just sitting out on the terrace sipping the rather good coffee.
So, it's welcome to Harringay to the new boys on the block. I was chatting with Ebony at Harringay Local Store a few days ago and she told me she wished them well and felt confident that all the recently opened shops on the north Harringay strip would benefit as the scale and variety of what's on offer expands.
The double-fronted Beans & Barley is half cafe, half produce store. The free wine will sadly not be a permanent feature.

I had a coffee there a couple of weeks back and thought it good. Blend's coffee is good too. I think it's great that we have two independent places to get good coffee in Harringay. I welcome them both. I'm meeeting someone there for a coffee over the next couple of days and I'll come back and say if I thnk it's still good on a second tasting.
