I don't know about everyone else but this week has felt better. I can open my back door without acrid smoke hitting my throat and my house doesn't smell like cooked meat. However, the hourly profile is still illuminating...
A proper investigation into what causes these fluctuations (weather etc.) would be brilliant. We have now had some engagement from the council. They have shared the following.
At this point it is important to note that the main driver for enforcement and compliance is statutory nuisance. However it should be noted that an hourly exceedance in particulate matter concentrations does not directly relate to nuisance law. There is no set level for enforcement, with nuisance law being based on the subjective view of an officer of the council.
I'm trying to get contact details of where to share our experiences of a statutory nuisance - but in the meantime, the email I have is pollution@haringey.gov.uk
Details of the statutory nuisance are below:

Hi Alice
Thanks for all your work on this.
Anna and I have been in contact with the officers who are involved in dealing with air pollution. We have also been talking to Cllr Ibrahim Ali who leads on climate, including air pollution. We will be meeting officers and Cllr Ali about the issues and will get back to you.
Best wishes,
Zena

Despite it being painfully obvious to everyone but the council what the problem is here, it might be worth comparing your data to their own. There is only one official diffusion tube that collects similar data to yours nearby. It's in Wood Green. Comparing them might help in highlighting the particular problem emanating from Green Lanes.
