Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

‘Week of Action’ to Keep You and Your Home Safe: 17th – 23rd June

Communication from Haringey Council:

Haringey Council is working in partnership with the Police and London Fire Brigade to increase safety and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the Harringay Ladder area during a targeted ‘Week of Action’ starting on the 17th June.

During this week, we will be:

  • Doing high visibility and plain clothes Police patrols, tackling drugs and anti-social behaviour crimes;
  • Knocking on doors delivering crime and safety advice to you;
  • Providing fire home safety audits, and fitting free smoke alarms;
  • Doing a deep-clean of streets and litter bins, removing graffiti and serving notices where hedges are overgrowing and blocking footways;

Thank you to those of you who have already contacted us with information about issues that need tackling during the Week of Action – we have fed these into our plans for the week where possible. Please do let us know if you have any further concerns or issues that could be addressed during the week by emailing zoe.robertson@haringey.gov.uk

There is lots of simple advice you can follow to help keep yourself, your home and your property safe. Please consider:

  • Registering your property on www.immobile.com – this is a free national register of property ownership which the Police use when tracking recovered stolen items. It is a free service and only takes a few minutes to register;
  • Keep your valuables out of sight, both at home and out and about;
  • Don’t leave anything on display and remove all valuables from your car;
  • Fit locks to your doors and windows and use them;
  • Keep your gardens tidy and secure.

For more information and safety advice please see www.metbumblebee.org or www.haringey.gov.uk/communitysafety

We will provide feedback to Harringay Online after the Week of Action with some of the key results. Thanks in advance for your input.
