Hi all,
Does anyone have a spare Samsung mobile phone / SMART phone
Hi all. A bit of a long-shot, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask. Does anyone have an old/spare Samsung smartphone gathering dust in a drawer?
The issue: my Samsung J5 phone (from 2017) is generally working ok, but the charging port stopped working yesterday. The battery itself is fine - I just can’t charge it. But if I had access to another, similar phone, I could put the battery into that phone and charge the battery.
Eventually I’ll either have to get my phone repaired - although lockdown makes that quite tricky - or buy a new one.
If anyone can help in the meantime, please let me know.

Hi Dan, I've got one but would worry about the personal data on there. I know it's mainly on the SIM card but some goes onto the phone itself, doesn't it? Also, don't we normally get a new phone when the battery is low so it might not actually help you much? regards, Roslyn

Hi Emma. That would be amazing, thank you. I've had a quick look online, and as far as I can see the A5 and J5 take the same battery. So this solution *should* work - fingers crossed :)
