@VpoDr withdraws the police caution given to 19yo with Downs Syndrome
"We are pleased to report that the IPCC have now withdrawn the Caution and have also removed my son Abdulkarriem name and DNA details from their database.
We are very happy with this result!
We are grateful to all those who took time out to sign our petition and support us and Abdulkarriem, in other ways. It made a massive difference, we know that for a fact.
We also commend and thank, David Lammy MP for Tottenham whose intervention really helped to concentrate the IPCC’s investigation and they took action, we think much faster due to his involvement."

God news. It proves it takes external intervention to get Haringey Police to see sense. I am delighted the boys parents got a positive result.
Well done them and their supporters for tackling Haringey Police's nonsensical reasoning.

Isn't it odd the that the Borough Commander assumed the Met Police's stance of defending police actions (without investigation) immediately after questions were raised. See image
Does the @VpoDr stand by his comments immediately after the event?
Does he accept now that he was wrong. And does he accept that it is just another example of the unprofessional, disingenuous, and systemically biased public discourse that is prevalent within the Met.

I cannot see the Borough Commander accepting he was wrong. Sadly, it is not uncommon for the Police in Haringey to give people a criminal record without proper investigation - and it may not necessarily be unlawful either.
Common sense suggests the boy's parent's should have been the responsible adults present rather than a party appointed by the Haringey Police to fill the role. Common Sense also dictates there are better ways to have dealt with the situation than criminalising him.
Commander Olisa seems not to be interested in ensuring common sense is applied in Haringey or ensuring the police follow their own procedures.
I think we may need a new Commander and Commissioner to put an end to the cronyism and poor practice that makes satisfactory policing in Haringey impossible
