Volunteers sought for Wood Green Animal Shelter in Lordship Lane

The Wood Green Animal Shelter needs to recruit more people to work just a few hours a week in their charity shops or as events volunteers in its three shelters, which includes its base in Lordship Lane, Wood Green.

The charity says volunteers are the “lifeblood” of the shelter and without them cats, dogs and other domestic animals would be left out in the cold.

But for anyone looking for more of a challenge, thrill-seeking fundraisers can sign up for a jungle trek in Peru, the London Marathon or a parachute jump - all on behalf of the charity.

Community fundraiser Caroline Wheeler said: “Anyone can volunteer. It doesn’t matter what your skills, experience or background are, or how much time you have to give, we’ll have something to suit you.”
