Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello there,

Does anyone have recommendations for where I can buy replacement Victorian Hall tiles?  Already tried Original Features with no joy as they can't help with all the sizes we need...any suggestions would be amazing.

Thanks very much!!

Vicki

Carvall Tiles in Seven Sisters have, or can get, repro tiles all sorts. Not cheap. Five minutes walk from 7Sisters tube, in the small industrial estate off Rangemoor Rd.

Phone first - I dont think they hold stocks. Also anything can disappear in a matter of days now and I've not walked past them for a while.

Ah wonderful - thanks pamish and Hugh!

Will check out all those references.

Cheers :)

May be worth checking the tag I've added.

Thx!

Hi Vicki,

Walls and Floors have a very large selection of repro victorian tiles

Thanks Polly!

Would I be right in thinking that reproduction Victorian tiles are usually in exact Metric dimensions ( like 35 mm square etc.). This insanity must be so as not to fall foul of EEC regulations and get prosecuted.

Victorian replacements to mend an existing original floor would surely need to be Imperial  ie in inches. ?

This firm make them for the restoration industry http://www.cravendunnill-jackfield.co.uk/

A cheaper alternative  ebay or salvage shops etc. Neighboring houses may still have exactly the same tiles, so skip-hunting during building work is a possibility too.

Thanks Gerry! That could make lots of sense as the problem...  The ones i'm finding are 70 x 70mm or 100mm x 100mm and i need more like 80 x 80 and 110 x 110... i'll check out that site you mentioned. Fingers
