Dear Permit Holder
I am pleased to write to you about the launch of an upgraded and improved online parking permits platform (where you buy and manage your parking permits) on 21st November 2023.
I would like to thank all the residents we have worked closely with to develop a range of improvements which include:
- Updated, mobile-friendly design – making it easier to buy and manage parking permits using a laptop, mobile phone or tablet.
- Improved layout with clearer options to manage and apply for permits, and to view and update account details.
- Improvements to buying and booking visitor permits – including buying unlimited permits in one transaction.
You will be able to access your improved online parking permits platform from 21st November 2023. When you click the button on the council website to buy a parking permit, you’ll be taken to the upgraded, mobile friendly permits platform.
The improvements highlighted above will not affect you accessing and managing your online parking permits platform as you would usually do.
To view your upgraded online parking permits platform from 21st November please visit https://www.haringey.gov.uk/parking-roads-and-travel/parking/parkin...
Yours sincerely

Dear Anne Cunningham
Using this site has been a nightmare for me since paper parking permit were abolished without consultation or regard to local people's preferences, ages, tech skills etc. The site created was appalling even for someone like me- I'm over 60 AND I have good tech skills. I'm glad you are (2 years later addressing some of the issues like creating a more user friendly environment and 'permitting residents to buy unlimited numbers of visitor permits (who ever thought of limiting us to buying 9 should be thrown to the crocodiles ... if we had any.
However, here's MY issue which may be shared with others which I repeatedly have had to go to WG library to resolve or spend hours on the phone -
I put in my username and password sometimes 10 times before it works. Or sometimes I change my password as requested and it tells me a new one has been sent to my email address (this password reset NEVER arrives - no it's not in my junk mail, no not 10 mins or 2 hours later ...
In utter frustration I ring Haringey .. . and wait and wait... they reset the password and I get in finally to 'activate my visitor permit... usually gor my daughter, waiting to get to work as she's dropped off my grandson.... So in the end I managed (after 6 months of battles) to get some paper permits again as an emergency backup.
My Residents permit is coming up for renewal and I am dreading the whole complicated process of dealing with that online. I'll need to set aside TWO HOURS!.

Ditto. I couldn’t get into the site this week to book a ticket and had to wait til 9 to call customer service. In the meantime, warden gave my plumber a ticket despite my note on van explaining problem. I am appealing the fine, which I paid to prevent issues for my plumber. Pretty hopeless. Literally not possible to buy a ticket and I get a fine. Made my day.
Yes same for me, battling to use my online permit when my daughter comes with her 2 small children, sometimes I’ve had to redo it 10 times too and in the meantime my daughter has to wait by the car with or without children ( depending on their mood) to avoid a ticket, this can take up to 30 minute and afterwards my blood pressure is high. I do hope that whoever is revamping the site will know what they are doing
Hi there;
Just so everyone knows, the paper permits were NEVER abolished. Never. The council wanted to get rid of them, but because of the horrible online system they never did. They now realize that they can't get rid of them 100%. You can get paper parking permits at the Wood Green Library. Best to make and appointment, but you don't have too. You need to take in your council tax letter. You pay and you receive your paper parking permits in the mail in about 10 days. This is fact. I was one of the people to lobby to keep the paper permits. And I just got some in the post a few days ago.
Regards,
James Cowling
