An inclusive circus troupe, Cirque Nova Sports, whose performers include people with learning or physical disabilities, will top the bill at a free festival and activity day celebrating the opening of the Paralympic Games later this month.
Called the PARAde Festival, the celebration offers an entertaining and fun-packed day where visitors can try their hand at a variety of sports and activities, including: cycling for the disabled; athletics, including wheelchair racing; football for deaf children; wheelchair basketball; special needs swimming; gymnastics; tennis and even drama.
The FREE Festival runs from 1pm to 6pm on Sunday 26th of August at Tottenham Green Leisure Centre, Philip Lane,N15 4JA.
As well as sporting activities the festival brings a number of live street acts to the centre's car park as part of the Greater London Authority's Showtime Festival.
Inside the leisure centre visitors can have a go at a range of events and sports activities, with experts on hand to offer tips and encouragement.
