Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

My six-year-old is desperate to be taken trick or treating tonight.

As someone who's never even opened the doors to trick-or-treaters myself, even when after having kids of my own, I'm skeptical about the chances of many folk responding to random knocks on the door accompanied by little voices.

Anyone got any experience of trick or treating locally?

Or any tips on how to ensure at least some kind of hit rate?

Cheers

I was you but a few years ago! My approach is only to knock on doors with visible Halloween activity - pumpkins etc. That way everyone seems happy.

I agree Alison.

Yes, it's definitely the signal. We used to buy sweets every year but no one called. Then one year my husband happened to put up a lantern (there was a pumpkin in our veg box) and we had a flood of kids!

Hopefully Hugh did take his little one out last night and had a great time.

i still got loads of sweets as not many kids came round- thought they would being saturday night- now have to eat the lot myself
