Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

2 small sycamore trees in medium/large plastic pots - free to good home - no room in garden for them. Please take from front path of 114 Chesterfield Gardens, N4

One about 4 ft tall - one about 2ft 6inches (been cut back). The smaller one has wild violets growing around it in the pot.

Used to stand on patio and look nice/shady by table but no room now as changing plants/tubs around.

ALSO - potentially - if friends don't take up first offer to rehome - 7 ft truly lovely Japanese Maple in pot (red and gold in autumn; delicate leaves)- also too large now for small patio and pushing out through pot and trying to dig into the wall under window!! No room to plant in garden sadly..

Someone would have to carry that through the house though if wanted it as too tall/heavy for me to manage (as short woman)!!  check back in a few days re Maple as waiting to hear from a couple of people about that one.

Sycamores good to go as soon as you want as in front of house.

I would love the maple if your friends don't want it.

Hi Ben really sorry tried to reply to yours and Beatriz's messages on Tuesday pm (wasn't online at 'home' for a couple of days re heavy workload). I'm sorry but the Japanese maple tree was snapped up by friends. Two small trees an ash and a horse chestnut (NOT sycamore I'm advised - which says something about my tree knowledge if I've not actually gone out and purchased them!) are still in front garden looking for homes.

ALSO a small bag - but more to come when sort out of wood is available on the front path of chunks of old fencing/bits of chopped floorboard useful for fire/pit/open fire etc. Please take and another couple of bags will come out on the path too soon!

Hi Margaret,

Could I have the wood and bits, please. I'm trying to get the children at school to build 'bug hotels' for the insects and we need to set them amongst wood etc.

Ann McTaggart

Hi Ann it might have been you I met the other day on the path asking about the tree logs - sorry for abrupt response if so - I was in middle of important work Skype!

Trees all long gone I'm afraid but  do please take any of the wood you want but these may not necessarily be suitable for bug houses as not logs but there is plenty more gone out - bits of floor boards etc. there is a rubble sack full on my front path.

No problem. Thanks for letting me know.
Hi Margaret,
Could you please tell me if you still have any plants to give away?
Thanks,

Hi Beatriz - I tried to reply to this the other day but it obviously failed (and to Ben's question also!) sorry I know it took ages and ages to load and I then had to go out and shut down the computer when back - clearly not accepted the messages! Apologies both.

Firstly there are still small trees outside on the front path - a tree surgeon friend tells me I was misleading people they are NOT sycamores but a) a small ash tree and b) a small horse chestnut - both in need of loving care - please collect!! ALSO a small bag - but more to come when sort out of wood is available on the front path of chunks of old fencing/bits of chopped floorboard useful for fire/pit/open fire etc. Please take and another couple of bags will come out on the path too soon!

Thank you, Margaret.
