Haringey’s Tree Service have been successful in securing some funding from the GLA (Greener City Fund) for the planting of 50 new trees in Finsbury Park this winter. The new trees will be planted around the perimeter of the park to fill in some of the existing gaps in canopy cover.
There are two community planting days during National Tree Week:
Haringey would welcome local residents coming along and assisting in making improvements to our local park.
On the Friday, he priority will be planting trees along the boundary with Endymion Road, N4.
On the Saturday, the focus is planting trees along the boundary with Seven Sisters Road, N4.
The planting will start at 9am and should be finished by 12pm on both days. The hope is to plant 10-15 new trees each day, volunteer numbers permitting.
Tools and gloves will be provided. There will be at least two parks operatives and Alex Fraser overseeing the planting.
Please email Alex if you are able to come along.
