Hi
Has anyone used the service from Finsbury Park to Gatwick Airport? Is it reliable? Is it running regularly?
Any advice would be welcome.

We have and it was so much nicer than getting the Tube to Victoria and then the Gatwick Express. They run every half an hour or so, maybe even less than that.
Damn I keep on forgetting this service exists. Will definitely give it a go next time...
They're up to every 15 minutes now, too.
The Horsham trains are a bit slower as they stop at a fair few lampposts south of Croydon... The Brighton trains stop through the core then straight to Croydon and then Gatwick.
I haven't been using them for Gatwick but I've used them in the other direction (Finsbury Park up to Peterborough and back again) and they've been on time every time. An annoying lack of seatback tables in a lot of them though.
I visit Gatwick a lot for work. I would go as far to say this service now makes Gatwick easier and more comfortable to get to than Heathrow for those near to the train line. If timed well of course!
I used it coming back from Gatwick a few months ago. It is convenient and a very useful connection but the only annoying thing is that when you get to Finsbury Park there are no lifts so if you have luggage you have to lug it down stairs. That's not so great
Hi KP
Help! I will be taking two heavy bags to get onto the train....
I just now called Thameslink and the operator tells me that there are lifts from the station concourse up to platforms 1,2 and 5,6...
As you've made this journey I'm inclined to believe you rather than Thameslink.
Oh dear!
