A granite and brass water fountain on the east side of Trafalgar Square, which was installed in 1960 by the Metropolitan Drinking Fountain Association, has now been restored to full working order, retaining its original features whilst water pipes have been replaced. Water safety tests have been successfully competed and the fountain is now available for public use. The fountain will be inspected on a daily basis to ensure high levels of hygiene and cleanliness.
A second drinking fountain on the west side of Trafalgar Square is being considered for restoration subject to costs and after a trial observation of the reinstated east-side fountain.
Anyone gets a picture of it: be sure to add it here!
