Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I wondered if anyone knew if there was a regular toddler group at Railway Fields?

I would be really keen to be able to go there regularly with my 15 month old and meet up with other parents and their kids to play outdoors.

We have been to several similar things in Highgate Woods (Nature Play) and Hackney Marshes (Forest Kids Hackney) and they are great, but if there was something in our neighbourhood that would be amazing.
Would any one else be interested?
I also wondered if the classroom space was bookable? And who we need to speak to to find out?

Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks in advance
Vanessa

I don't THINK there is but I volunteer there. It would be a great venue for one. I could ask when I go tomorrow. Its not for me to say but I am not sure you can book the classroom space as at the moment its also TCV's London office. But I will ask. If its not bookable now it probs will be in the future.
I can ask but I don't see why it would be a problem as such. I suppose as it is a reserve the kids would have to refrain from picking and disturbing stuff, like the plants and mini beasts, but I guess you would do that anyway? Do you have ideas of the kinds of stuff that would happen? I guess one thing to discuss is things like using the toilets and handwashing. They have loos inside which school groups use but as its their office there maybe access implications there.

Btw woodlands park children centre run a brilliant gardening gp on a Tues am. Gives the kids a chance to get stuck in and get their hands dirty and sow, water, harvest plants. In a sense that is more suitable for toddlers as more interactive than a nature reserve, wherte plants don't want to be disturbed?
Tho the woodlands park gp may be term time only. I went with my then 4 yearold who loved it but is now at school. There were lots of little ones there though. I normally go to salvation army drop in if I do anything so haven't taken my 15 month old.

I'd be keen for a toddler group there. We've been to Nature Play at Highgate Woods a few times, but often don't get there due to naps  and with my eldest starting school this year the timing won't work for us. I have a nearly two year old (and another babe due later in the year) so am keen for activities close to home. I don't go to Railway Fields as it feels a bit isolated when I'm on my own, so would love to meet up with other parents and children.

Hi Vanessa
Great idea - we'd be interested too. My daughter is 14 months.
