Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Thieves operating in Harringay Sainsbury's
Just to remind people to keep an eye on their belongings in Harringay Sainsbury's. I've just had my handbag stolen with purse, mobile, car and house keys and have had to leave my locked car in the car park. Customer Services were very helpful and they caught the thieves on the security camera and have reported it to the police. It was two women who obviously prey on the distracted mothers of small children! Anyway, keep your handbags on you and don't leave things in the trolley.

Its a hard job when you can't shop without having your bag stolen. Was there any description? I witnessed two women pick pocketing on the local buses a while ago and told the police, so unfortunately you have to keep your wits about you.

They were two Eastern European women in their 20's/30's who are known to be operating in the area. They have stolen bags in the store before but they now have good pictures of them on CCTV actually taking my bag so hopefully they'll be caught soon. My husband (who is Albanian!) recognised them as they're always drinking coffee in the Ari cafe next to the Salisbury.

So they have CCTV pictures of them and it is also known where they frequent - excellent - I hope they get the &*^$£'s! Sorry - feeling very acrimonious towards "petty" criminals at the moment (bike theft is still fresh in my mind).

Sorry to hear what happened to you. I am also aware of two people having wallet/phone stolen from Costa coffee in recent months & at least one of these incidents involved two women distracting the person by 'cooing' at her child. Unfortunately Costa staff were pretty disinterested - disbelieving in one case, so good to hear Sainsbury's have taken the matter seriously. Thanks for letting us know.
