A profound observation, OAE - you can say that again.
We didn't all vote the same way OAE! A few dissenting voices.
Some folk would sell their souls for a decent dob of hummus I'm sure! and maybe a few bits of bread to dunk into it
Dana, have you had your underlying condition diagnosed yet? I'm not sure whether you can get treatment for it on the NHS, but there must be a few specialists who would take it on at reasonable cost in their private capacity.
You are @DCchatterclass on Twitter I believe. A myopic and partisan apologist for the local Labour Party. There was nothing anyone on this site could do to combat the awesome campaigning power of The Labour Party. The way they went to every potential supporter in Harringay at least once and whispered "bedroom tax" and pretended not to know about the St Ann's selection was deceitful.
In Seven Sisters we have the Muswell Hill Colonial administration returned. In St Ann's we had three fraudulently selected councillors returned and in Harringay we had Emine. Gina is invisible (unless she wants he pavements fixed) and James couldn't even be bothered to turn up to the count.
I am asking my neighbours to join the Labour Party because of people like you who apologise for the appalling state of it and the impact it has on local democracy.
Of course! He was probably one of the five councillors who voted for Ali to be deputy mayor too.
Dana just read your post. Are you for real? Care to comment about the St Anns Labour selection as you have so much to say.
"Harringay has 2 excellent new councillors" They are new but only time will tell if they are excellent. I note that you did not include Gina in your comment as excellent. Maybe you know as the residents of this ward do that she is far from it.
Both sides in this election said and did unpleasant things but I feel the loser here maybe Haringey.
Labour have another opportunity to do some good for Haringey but will they take it?
Yes, we can only judge our 'excellent new councillors' when they have a proven track record. They are new and haven't done anything yet. Maybe they will be a clean slate. I live in hope (or do I?) Something seemed very wrong with these elections/choice/selection.
I'm surprised UKIP didn't do better as the so-called 'protest vote'.
And, however much they are criticised here as 'vermin', they had every right to stand candidates as they are a bona fide political party. Democracy allows for all sorts to stand- that is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of but just the opposite- we should be proud they showed their faces! Along with all the other parties and independent candidates. A false, weak democracy does not permit voices offstage trying to get onstage. Dissent helps democracy thrive.
