Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

From Haringey Council's website:

The Palm House

Banana Tree

The tranquillity of the Palm House can be enjoyed by wandering amongst the Palm trees and giant ferns. Tropical birds, terrapins, goldfish and giant koi swimming in the running streams can all be seen.

In summer, vibrantly coloured tropical butterflies flutter through the Palms, and surely this is the only place in Wood Green where bananas can be seen growing on a banana tree!

The Desert/Cactus House

Be amazed at the wonderful plants that can grow and thrive even in the harshest of conditions in the Desert/Cactus House.

With so many different cacti to see there is almost always something that is coming into flower or doing something intriguing.

This looks like a must do this holiday.
Popped in yesterday - thanks for the tip, HOLers. Prices for little house plants start at £1.50, hanging baskets a fiver, hot drinks at the cafe a quid. Amazing choice of cut-price cacti and agaves. The arid cactus house and lush palm house are definitely worth a look. Especially liked the sunbathing terrapins.
Great. Thanks for the feedback.
Didn't know this place existed. Just paid it a visit. Great Palm House and cheap plants, but cafe closed on a Sunday!!! That shows local authority influence.
