Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Dear all,

A fantastic (and famous) Oxfam event is coming to Wood Green: The Hunger Banquet

The aim of the Banquet is to visualise unequal distribution of food around the world. You will directly witness food injustice that harms millions every day and will participate in one of the most inspiring events ever organised by Oxfam.

Guests will draw tickets allocating them to one of the three income groups: poor, middle-class and rich. As is the case in real world, the kind of food you will get depends on your luck: you might either feast on great food donated by five local restaurants, or get a modest meal instead.

Even if you’re less lucky, you’ll still get an opportunity to learn about the Enough Food for Everyone campaign, one of the greatest anti-hunger campaigns ever organised, uniting around 100 charities around the world.

You will also hear three speakers talk about their experiences of fighting poverty, including Lynne Featherstone MP, Martin Stone from Muswell Hill Soup Kitchen and a speaker from Oxfam to be confirmed soon!

The event will take place at St Michael's Primary School in Wood Green, Bounds Green Road, N22 8HE (just a few minutes from WG tube station) on the 15th of March at 5.30pm and will finish around 7pm.

The event is planned for 50 people, including 15 children, so we only have 35 seats. Please arrive early to grab yours!

You can collect a ticket from the Oxfam shops in Wood Green and Crouch End and while this will guarantee you access to the event, it is not compulsory, as we'll be admitting guests until we’re full.

Please be with us on this great Friday evening!

See you there!
